Terms of use

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Soltide is published by bypop.dev ("we"). By using the Soltide app you agree to these terms. Nothing in them limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.

The licence

Soltide is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add what's specific to Soltide. Where they differ, the Standard EULA applies to the licence itself.

General wellness, not medical advice

Soltide offers general wellness information, not medical advice. It doesn't diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it isn't a medical device.

  • Check with a doctor first if you have bipolar disorder, an eye or retinal condition, take medicines that make you sensitive to light, or have had skin cancer — before changing your light routine or using a bright light lamp.
  • Never look directly at the sun.
  • When UV is 3 or more, seek shade, cover up, wear sunglasses and use SPF 30+. Sunscreen isn't a reason to stay out longer. Soltide never sets tanning goals.
  • For vitamin D, ask a doctor or pharmacist. Soltide doesn't calculate doses.

Estimates, not measurements

Sun times are calculated; light levels and UV are estimates from the sun's height and the weather forecast, for open ground. What reaches your eyes is usually lower, and forecasts can be wrong. The 30-minute light goal is a habit target Soltide chose, not a clinical dose. Use your own judgement about weather, traffic and your surroundings when you go outside.

Weather data is provided by Apple Weather. Light and UV estimates are calculated by Soltide from that data.

Soltide Pro

The app is free. Soltide Pro unlocks extra features and is sold by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's terms, at the price shown in the App Store before you buy. It isn't shared through Family Sharing. There are two ways to get it:

  • Yearly subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase or, if you start with the free first week (below), when the free week ends. The subscription renews automatically each year until you cancel it. To manage or cancel it, open Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ Subscriptions on your iPhone, at least 24 hours before the renewal date — otherwise the next year may be charged. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays on until the end of the year you've already paid for.
  • Lifetime. A one-time purchase that unlocks Pro for good. It never renews and is never charged again.
  • Free first week (yearly subscription only). New subscribers get the first week (7 days) of the yearly subscription free, as an App Store introductory offer, once per Apple Account. It's the start of the subscription: when the free week ends, the yearly price is charged to your Apple Account and the subscription renews each year until you cancel — unless you cancel in Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ Subscriptions at least 24 hours before the free week ends, in which case nothing is charged and Pro features lock again when it ends; your data stays. If Soltide's notifications are on, it sends you a reminder the evening before the free week ends. Lifetime has no free trial.
  • Price changes. If the yearly price changes, Apple tells you before it applies and asks for your consent where its rules or the law require it. A new price never applies to a year you've already paid for.
  • Right of withdrawal (EU and UK). As a consumer you can withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. For your first purchase of the subscription or of Lifetime this is handled by Apple: use reportaproblem.apple.com. Other refund requests go to Apple the same way.
  • Use Restore Purchase in the Pro screen or Settings to unlock Pro on another device with the same Apple Account.
  • Changes to the app. Features are described on this website and in the app. We may improve and change them over time, but we'll never take a Pro feature away during a subscription year you've paid for or from a Lifetime purchase. Safety information is always free.

Fair use

Please don't reverse-engineer or resell the app, or misuse it.

Liability

We build Soltide carefully, but we can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, or for decisions you make based on estimates in the app. This doesn't limit liability that can't be limited by law — for example for intent or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence — or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes

We may update these terms, for example when the app changes. The new version will be published here with a new date; significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by Polish law, without taking away the protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country where you live. Questions: hello@bypop.dev. See also the privacy policy.
